Historic Saint Mary of Victories Catholic Church<\/strong>, just south of the Gateway Arch, is a splendid and unique part of the heritage of old Saint Louis. Founded in 1843 for German\u00a0immigrants<\/a><\/strong>, it became the city’s\u00a0Hungarian Catholic Church<\/strong>\u00a0and cultural center in 1957<\/a>. Its acclaimed architecture, beautiful old paintings, ornate statuary, and noted historical personalities have earned it a spot on the\u00a0National Register of Historic Places<\/a><\/strong>. It is one of the few consecrated churches in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, and has a magnificent high altar with hundreds of sacred relics.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Today St. Mary of Victories proudly serves the descendants of the original immgrants, the Downtown business community, and parishioners from the entire metro area.\u00a0 Visitors and numerous tourists enjoy the quaint, decorative charm and tranquility of the old church and its landscaped Old World courtyard. Masses, including weddings, funerals<\/span>, and regularly scheduled weekday and weekend services,\u00a0are still held at the parish.
